In 1984 an iconic movie was released called Ghost Busters. A comedy about 4 dudes that hunt ghosts and remove them. It’s been 30 years since the Ghost Busters sequel, Ghost Busters 2, was released in 1989.
Next year, in 2020, fans will get an official “trilogy” with Ghost Busters 3. While a 3rd Ghost Busters was released in 2016, many do not feel it was true to the original movies. A cast of females apprised the roles of the ghost busters, and it was a reboot instead of continuing the saga and passing the torch, so to say. So it is not considered part of the Ghost Busters “cannon” franchise.
Ghost Busters 3 promises to not disappoint… it is being directed by Jason Reitman, son of Ivan Reitman who directed the original Ghost Busters and Ghost Busters 2. Jason also had a small part in Ghost Busters 2.
It is rumored “most” of the original cast will also be in the movie including Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Harold Ramis, Rick Moranis, and Annie Potts. It is unsure if Bill Murray will reprise his role. Let’s hope he will!
Here is a video I stumbled upon that discusses the addition to the Ghost Busters movie franchise.
And I know you have had the theme playing in your head, so without further ado… Ray Parker Jr and the Ghost Buster’s theme:
