My thoughts: Funny that this makes headlines. My wife gave birth to all 5 of ours naturally and without any epidurals. Our youngest was essentially 10 pounds (9lbs 15oz). And the longest labor was 8 hours. It was also the first, and each labor got shorter. Our youngest was only 2-3 hours. So, I am pleasantly amused that this gets headlines. Maybe because of the baby’s weight.. but it really does not have to be so unusual. Child birth was meant to be natural. Women are not supposed to get drugged up before giving birth. Think about it.
