My thoughts: I understand their position to maintain service for these hate websites. Free speech includes speech we disagree with, and to a certain extent, hate speech. Just as a Christian bakery should not be forced to serve clients that go against their beliefs, a company also has the right to serve people who go against their beliefs. Cloudflare’s decision (for now) to serve the hate speech sites does not mean they agree with the sites they protect… just as the police who provided security at the protest did not necessarily agree with the AltRight protesters, they still served to protect them. Cloudflare is in a way, protecting the AltRight online. And I expect that they will also continue to protect my sites.
