My thoughts: Memories! I listened to 89x when I lived in Toledo and was going to UT. I had a show on WXUT, the University’s station, at the time too. And I swear one of the jocks took an idea I used on WXUT and used it at CIMX. I don’t quite remember what I did, but I remember feeling flattered and violated at the same time.

I met Cristina back in 1991 or early 1992 when she was still Vince’s intern. I have been envious that she has been able to work at 89x, a station I have applied to several times over the years but was never given the chance. I am very saddened by the news that Bell Media has terminated so many people, including Cristina. This act continues to prove that these media companies do not understand what made them successful. Sure, shrewd business practices have something to do with it. But more importantly is the human factor. They do not understand that humans, creative humans make these ideas successful.

Cristina, if you ever happen to stumble across my humble blog, I am sorry to hear of your loss. But, you will persevere and they will be jealous of your new found success.

RIP 89X.
